Drum Maintenance And Repair

I perform repairs and maintenance on all drums, with the most common work being the improvement of bearing edges on wooden drums. This involves leveling the drum opening perfectly flat, creating a new bearing edge, sanding it to a silky smooth finish, polishing it, and oiling it with paraffin oil if necessary. Cracks are also common repair targets.

Redoing the bearing edges on a wooden 14″ drum without reinforcement rings costs €48. If the drum has thick reinforcement rings (e.g., an older Ludwig), there is much more sanding required, and the price is slightly higher.

Other common tasks include shortening drums, installing various parts, drilling holes, etc.
